Sam, a closeted lesbian, joins the pact to cement the bond with her two best friends. Kayla pledges to do so as well, though on a casual basis with her lab partner, Connor. Twelve years later, Julie shares with Kayla and Sam that she plans to lose her virginity to her boyfriend Austin at prom. Kayla's father Mitchell and Sam's father Hunter introduce themselves and become close friends after seeing the bond between their children. She watches on as Julie is joined by two other girls, Kayla and Sam. Single mother Lisa Decker drops off her young daughter, Julie, for her first day of kindergarten.
